Meet Mrs. Shavel

Welcome to Room 34!  This is my first year as a 4th grade math and science teacher.  I am excited about this change and learning with your students this year.

Work Experience

I was a 1st grade teacher at Sunset Valley Elementary school for 12 years.  I previously taught 1 year in 3rd grade at Stewartsville and 8 years at Belle Vernon School district. 

Education

I am a graduate of Hempfield Area High School.  I then attended Bucknell University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and IUP with a Special Education degree. 

Personal Information

I live with my family in the Norwin School district and have 2 kids, Nick and Julia.  In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
